Prof. Cussenot (olivier.cussenot@tnn.ap-hop-paris.fr), through the CeRePP, has been involved in the coordination or participation of a number of international collaborative activities on prostate cancer research, such as the coordination of the Biomed 2 N° CT96 on gene therapy for prostate cancer from 1996 to 2000 or such as the current participation in the International Consortium Prostate Cancer Genetics supported by the National Cancer Institute. Since 1995, CeRePP manages a laboratory of genomics with four departments of urology around a clinical database (15000) and a bank of tissue and blood from patients with prostate tumor (5000) and from control men for these pathologies (2500). CeRePP has also facilities in house, including, tissue arrays, bio-informatics and cell imaging.
Prof. Cussenot is appointed as full professor at the Paris 7 University « René Diderot » and as Consultant surgeon, fully qualified in general surgery, urology, oncology and medical genetics, in the Department of Urology at Hospital Tenon (Assistance-Publique, Hôpitaux de Paris). He heads the department of Morphology (Anatomy, Histology and Embryology) at the medical School of Medicine UFR Lariboisière/St-Louis, University Paris 7 and he is Director of research and head of the Laboratory of Genetic and Physiopathology of Prostate Tumours CeRePP (Centre de Recherche sur les Pathologies Prostatiques, UPRES-EA 3104, University Paris 7). In 1996, he was honoured by his election at the «Institut Universitaire de France».
